Vicky's Bio

Vicky Mariconde is a Christian Contemporary/Gospel vocalist and songwriter. She is the daughter of Rev. William Highsmith Jr., and the late Vivian Highsmith.

Vicky was previously a member of Pitts Chapel and First Calvary Baptist churches in New Haven, Connecticut, and is currently a member of Vertical Church in West Haven, Connecticut (formerly Living Word Ministries).

Over the last 25 years, Vicky has has served faithfully in many other ministries and has held various positions in the Music Ministry, including as the choir director.

Vicky was born again in 1992, and has no doubt in her mind that accepting Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, is the best decision anyone will ever make in their lives.

At a young age Vicky began singing with her sisters in a group called The Highsmith Sisters, and has sang in several choirs over her lifetime. God has anointed Vicky with a rich alto voice, which she uses to express her love for the Lord. Her voice garnered the attention of many, and she soon became in great demand for singing engagements in the tri-state area. While Vicky wears many hats, her true passion is to minister in song and share the faithfulness of God through testimony and speaking engagements. Many of her life experiences have been the catalyst for her words of encouragement to others.

Vicky is inspired and influenced by the vocal style of Babbie Mason and Judy Jacobs. She is still living her dream and has released her debut album in 2010 entitled “Still I Know.... “, which has inspired and reminded so many of God’s faithfulness. Portions of her powerful testimony are on her debut album, and Vicky’s story was featured in the New Haven Register on April 17, 2011.

Her single “His Name is Jesus” held the #1 spot in the Top 20, by listener poll on Arise Radio station in Nashville, Tennessee. She was voted Best New Female Gospel Vocalist in Jerry Green’s Holla Back Video Gospel Awards, in October 2011.

Vicky stands in awe of God’s favor and faithfulness as she has been presented with numerous venues to minister in song and through her words of encouragement and motivation.
